Airport Weeze started operations on the 1st of May 2003 as the youngest airport in Europe.

In 2019, around 1.2 million business travellers and holiday passengers were checked in at the new passenger terminal.

In addition, the airport currently receives around 50,000 meeters and greeters and a further 100,000 visitors, who arrive at the terminal in particularly great numbers during the weekends.
