III. 2. Server data collection
Purpose of processing
When you visit our website, various data (server statistics) which your browser transmits to our provider’s server are automatically stored. Logged data include the IP address of your device, date and time of access, name and URL of files accessed, website (from which the access was made or from which you were directed to our website (referrer URL)), browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your device and the name of your provider.
The aforementioned data is processed by us for the purposes of problem-free connectivity and system security. This data is not combined with data from other sources. The IP address is anonymised. Connection data is automatically erased and this generally takes place after a maximum of seven days. If the website is used fraudulently, log data which has to be stored for a longer period for evidential purposes will be retained until the incident has been clarified.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) f) GDPR and section 25 (2) of the German Telecommunications and Digital Services Data Protection Act, TDDDG. (However, this only applies to data such as browser or header information that is inevitably transmitted or transmitted due to the (browser) settings of the terminal device when accessing our website). This is not to be regarded as “access to information already stored in the device”. Our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) f) GDPR arises from the fact that we need to ensure the secure operation of the website and identify any attacks.
III. 3. Email enquiries
Purpose of processing
The telephone number for a callback is optional. If you send us an enquiry by email, we collect and store the email address and the data contained in the email.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR because you consent to the above-mentioned processing of your data when you use the contact form or send us an email. The legal basis is also Art. 6 (1) b) GDPR as the storage of the data is necessary for the fulfilment of a pre-contractual and potential later contractual relationship.
The data will be erased when the purpose for which they are stored no longer applies, i.e. when your email enquiry has been answered or when the subject matter of the enquiry has been finally clarified.
You have the right to revoke your consent at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing up to the time of revocation.
You can find information on the right to erasure and information under “Data subject rights”.
III. 4. Cookies
Purpose of processing
We use cookies and other technologies on our website. Some of them are essential, while others help us to improve this website and the user experience. Personal data may be processed (e.g. IP addresses), e.g. for personalised ads and content or ad and content measurement.
General information
This section includes an overview of all the cookies we use. You can give your consent to entire categories or have further information displayed so you can select only certain cookies.
We use cookies from the following third-party providers:
- Borlabs Cookie
- Google Analytics
The legal basis for own cookies is Art. 6 (1) f) GDPR and section 25 (1) TDDDG. Our legitimate interest arises from the fact that we only use the aforementioned cookies to make it easier for you to access the website, do not collect any tracking data and therefore do not encroach upon your personal rights and fundamental freedoms. You can block cookies in your web browser, however, this may mean that you are not able to use all of our website functions.
III. 5. Borlabs Cookie
Purpose of processing
Saves the settings that visitors select in the Borlabs Cookie box. IP addresses are automatically anonymised and the erasure of the data is set to 1 year by default.
The legal basis for the collection and storage of data is Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR and section 25 (1) TDDDG. The legal basis for the conditions of consent and revocation of consent is Art. 7 GDPR.
III. 6. Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
Purpose of processing
This website uses the Google Analytics 4 (GA4) tool to analyse user behaviour, measure reach and evaluate user behaviour with the assistance of artificial intelligence. The tool enables us to register, document and subsequently analyse the so-called “hits” on the website. “Hits” are clicks that are made on the website and lead the user to the website in the first place. The use of artificial intelligence also makes it possible to analyse user behaviour by detecting, documenting and evaluating so-called “events”. “Events” are specific chains of actions that the user carries out during their visit to the website, such as fast or slow scrolling to the end of the page, clicks on external links, downloads or page views. The algorithm that can read out these events can also recognise specific usage behaviour on other devices, making cross-device behaviour analysis possible. Therefore, if there are multiple separate sessions on different devices, GA4 can automatically combine the sessions into a standardised cross-device user experience based on the user ID, Google ID or device ID. You can find general information here: Data usage by Google when you use our partners’ websites or apps .
IP addresses are automatically anonymised and the erasure of the data is set to 2 years by default.
Information about how Google uses cookies, what types of cookies and other technologies are used and how to manage cookies in your browser can be found here .
The legal basis for the collection and storage of data is Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR and section 25 (1) TDDDG. The legal basis for the conditions of consent and revocation of consent is Art. 7 GDPR.
